Tupac was indeed a social icon with strong political & philosophical convictions, however he was not anywhere near one of the great philosophers. He was an extremely talented musician, and his reflection on the contemporary state of Black America is what make him so special and memorable. His views on the legal and political system in America mirror those of Noam Chomsky; If anything Tupac Shakur was an anarchist. Interesting article

Very insightful! I am a student of philosophy and a political junkie and knowing "the prince" quite well, had been very intrigued by Tupac choosing this name. Ive read it was an "alter ego", but i think, as you seem to, that it was more of a consciously inspired choice that had signifance to him personally and philisophically, and hardly related to a marketing strategy in itself (but perhaps ironically this is also a part of his strategy as redefining himself branded with the name of the famous thinker and strategist) and xcertainly not just some aesthetic used to entertain or sell records, regardless if that helped. I really enjoyed your specific speculations and even if they may not be what went through tupacs mind, they are te best and most interesting ive seen yet!

Can I simply say what a comfort to uncover somebody who truly knows what they are talking about on the internet.

You actually know how to bring an issue to light and make
it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of your
story. It's surprising you are not more popular since you most certainly possess the gift.

We already had a socialist welfare healthcare option. It is called Medicaid/Medicare. Nobody, not even an undocumented immigrant who commits a felony and cannot speak a word of English, is denied healthcare in this country. Before that particular socialist scam, we had charity hospitals funded privately by churches and other philanthropic groups and still nobody was turned away. This, like any number of leftwing Causes Celebre, are about bringing the top down, not bringing the bottom up. Of course all of this is just my opinion.
